Redefining Confidence in UAE Property: Meet Savvy Founder Ramona Moffatt

What gives a property owner real confidence?

For us, it is not a polished presentation, an impressive address or a reassuring promise. It is having clear, reliable information about the property, understanding the possible risks and knowing that every stage is being managed properly.

This belief sits at the heart of Savvy Property Services and was the focus of my recent interview with The Luxury Network UAE.

In the interview, I spoke about why we created Savvy, the experiences that shaped our approach and why independent technical insight is becoming increasingly important for homeowners and property investors across the UAE.

You can read the complete interview with The Luxury Network UAE here or find it in The Luxury Network Magazine, Issue 54, on pages 88–93.

Why was Savvy Property Services created?

Savvy was built from personal experience, not simply from a business idea.

Before creating the company, we had been involved in projects where things did not go as expected. We experienced mismanaged construction sites, delayed handovers and properties where hidden technical problems only became visible after a significant investment had already been made.

These situations were costly—not only financially, but also in time, energy and unnecessary stress.

What became clear was that many of these problems could have been reduced or avoided if the right technical information and professional oversight had been available earlier.

This became the foundation of Savvy: helping property owners make better-informed decisions before uncertainty becomes an expensive problem.

Today, we support homeowners, buyers, landlords and investors through a range of property services across the UAE, from inspections and maintenance to renovation management and departure support.

What does confidence in property really mean?

At Savvy, we often say:

Luxury is knowing exactly what you are investing in.

For us, luxury is not only about beautiful interiors, premium finishes or an exclusive location. Real luxury is clarity.

It means knowing the condition of a property before committing to it. It means understanding which defects are cosmetic, which may become costly and which require urgent attention. It also means knowing that the people managing your property or renovation are working in your interest.

In a fast-moving UAE property market, decisions can easily be influenced by presentation, marketing and pressure to act quickly. However, buying, renovating or maintaining a property involves significant financial responsibility.

Independent technical information gives owners the confidence to pause, ask the right questions and make decisions based on evidence rather than assumptions.

How do Savvy property inspections protect owners?

A professional property inspection should provide more than a long list of minor defects.

Our property inspection and snagging services focus on helping clients understand the actual condition of their property and the potential financial impact of the issues identified.

We use a structured inspection process supported by professional equipment, including thermal imaging, moisture detection and drainage cameras where required. This helps our inspectors assess areas that may not be fully understood through a surface-level visual check alone.

Findings are documented with photographic evidence, clear descriptions and practical guidance. The objective is to show the client:

  • What has been identified
  • Which issues should be prioritised
  • What may require further specialist investigation
  • Which defects could create future costs
  • What should be raised with a developer, seller or contractor

Whether we are inspecting an apartment, villa, office, retail space or warehouse, the purpose remains the same: to replace uncertainty with useful, evidence-based information.

Why is owner’s representation important during a renovation?

A successful renovation requires much more than choosing finishes and appointing a contractor.

There are budgets, timelines, approvals, variations, material selections and quality checks to manage. Without one responsible point of contact, information can quickly become fragmented and small misunderstandings can develop into expensive delays.

Through our project management and owner’s representation service, Savvy coordinates the different parties involved and protects the owner’s interests throughout the project.

Our clients can follow progress through the project management tool we use, including status updates, photographs and key project information. This is particularly helpful for international owners who may not be in the UAE while work is taking place.

Interior design is incorporated into our managed renovation and fit-out projects. This allows the design, technical requirements and on-site execution to be considered together instead of being handled as separate processes.

The result is a renovation journey with clearer communication, better coordination and far greater visibility for the owner.

How did Savvy’s Departure Service begin?

Our Departure Service developed naturally after we helped someone close to us manage her move out of Dubai.

What initially appeared to be a straightforward relocation became a long list of connected tasks: documenting belongings, arranging packing and storage, organising shipping, managing the property, coordinating repairs and ultimately preparing the home for sale.

We recognised how difficult this process can be, especially when the client has already left the country.

That experience became our UAE Departure Service—a fully managed solution for people leaving the UAE who need one reliable local representative.

Depending on the client’s requirements, we can coordinate inventories, packing, storage, international shipping, furniture sales, vehicle handling, donations, disposal, property inspections, repair work and the final property handover.

It is a practical service, but it is also built around trust. Our clients know that someone remains on the ground, looking after the details and ensuring everything is handled as agreed.

What is Savvy’s vision for property ownership in the UAE?

The UAE property market continues to grow and mature. With that growth comes a greater need for transparency, reliable documentation and preventative property care.

Our long-term vision is to help property owners move away from fragmented and reactive management.

Instead of waiting for a serious defect, maintenance emergency or renovation dispute, we believe owners should have a clear understanding of their property and access to the right support before problems escalate.

For us, better property ownership means:

  • Understanding technical risks before making major decisions
  • Keeping inspection, maintenance and project information organised
  • Identifying issues before they become expensive
  • Giving owners clearer visibility throughout renovations
  • Providing one trusted point of contact when coordination becomes complex

This is how we protect long-term property value—not through reassurance, but through clear information, consistent oversight and practical action.

A trusted approach to UAE property services

We were delighted to be welcomed as a member of The Luxury Network UAE. The partnership reflects our commitment to discretion, professionalism and a high standard of service for property owners in the UAE.

However, our approach remains very personal.

Every property is different, and every owner has different priorities. Our role is to listen, understand the situation and introduce the structure needed to move forward with confidence.

Whether you are buying a property, preparing for a handover, planning a renovation, organising ongoing maintenance or leaving the UAE, Savvy can act as your trusted local representative.

Because when it comes to property, confidence should never be based on assumptions.

It should be based on knowing.
